ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two Rochester women are being honored with an award at the National World War II Museum this weekend.
101-year-old Mary Masciangelo and 99-year-old Mairlyn Erickson are considered local “Rosie Riveters,” women who worked in factories and held traditionally male-centered roles during the World War II era.
On Wednesday, the women boarded a flight to New Orleans to take part in the Gary Sinsie Foundation’s Soaring Valor Program, which recognizes veterans by providing an all-expenses-paid trip to visit the museum…
