“Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected,” says the weather service. “Fully leafed out trees will result in more tree damage than with similar wind speeds during the colder months of the year.”

“Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” adds the weather service. “Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.”
