ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Volunteers with Purple Pony, a therapeutic horsemanship program serving those with disabilities, are hosting a treasure sale and need donations, which they begin accepting today.
Lynnette Short, a certified Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) instructor, and Bailey, the 15-year-old now-retired harness racehorse with a new lease on life, help people through programming at Purple Pony Therapeutic Horsemanship in LeRoy.
“I grew up in the city drawing horses, so I am now living my dream of working with them and taking care of them,” said Short. She has been a special education teacher since 1988 and started riding in her 40s. “Working with individuals with disabilities is a passion of mine.
