Jewish Federation alleges hate speech, violation of town code in Brighton protests

BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WROC) – According to leaders of the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester, many families in the town of Brighton are on edge due to protests regularly held at Twelve Corners. Those in charge of the organization claim the messaging behind the demonstrations is rooted in antisemitism.

C.E.O. of the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester Gustavo Rymberg explained that in the two months he’s resided in Rochester so far, he’s had many conversations with community members about the protests. He and many others believe the messaging has become increasingly hateful in recent months.

“There’s a lot of ignorance in the messages and a lot of education missing,” Rymberg said. “It’s really difficult for the Jewish community to experience things that we shouldn’t be experiencing.”…
