Nearly 400 cyclosporiasis cases confirmed in NY as officials probe nationwide outbreak

Rochester, N.Y. — Health officials are investigating an outbreak of a foodborne parasite that has sickened hundreds of people nationwide, including nearly 400 in New York since May.

Cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness often linked to contaminated fresh produce, can cause symptoms such as severe diarrhea and vomiting.
