Rochester youth group runs weekly relief drive for Venezuela and Puerto Rico crises

Rochester, N.Y. — The Latino Youth Development and Resource Center is leading a supply relief drive to help people in need overseas.

The goal is to bring awareness to the crises in Venezuela and Puerto Rico and help deliver food, medical equipment, and other supplies to those directly impacted by the earthquake and water crisis.

“My country, Puerto Rico, they haven’t been going through the same things, but we have experienced earthquakes,” said Dileysha Garcia. “Again, the Hispanic community, I think it’s very important for us to come together. It’s emotional to see that people do care, that we’re still able to come together as community and provide that help to another country, which they need it right now.”…
