Rudy Sautron wins 85th Monroe Invitational

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) – Rudy Sautron broke all sorts of records on his way to winning the 85th Monroe Invitational, one of the most prestigious amateur golf tournaments in the country.

Sautron shot a tournament record 19-under par, which was previously held by last year’s winner, Oscar Couilleau, at 14-under. Interestingly enough, both golfers hail from France.

But Sautron’s tournament was in its own stratosphere. He only bogeyed one single hole – the par 4 18th on Friday. That was even part of a 7-under round of 63, which vaulted him into the lead after three rounds…
