ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester City School District teachers and faculty are still dealing with missed and incorrect paychecks a year after payroll problems began with the Oracle system.
Significant Decline in Impacted Checks
The teacher’s union said it’s dealing with very few impacted people. During the last pay period, the district had just a handful of complaints from employees saying their checks were wrong in some way.
The district said it’s seeing about the same number of discrepancies it did two years ago; before the switch. However, paraprofessionals are speaking out, tired and feeling defeated.
“I’d like to say first I love my job,” a paraprofessional of 19 years said. “But missed payment, short payment or no payments during the summer months have made it difficult and we are unable to sustain our families.”…
