Police standoff at E. Main Street home leads to arrest

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester police were at the scene of a standoff on East Main Street, which resulted in the arrest of one individual.

Officers said they responded to a home on E. Main Street around 10 p.m. Thursday for the report of menacing with a handgun.

During the investigation, a house was surrounded and streets were shut down for several hours. One individual was eventually taken into custody. Officers say they recovered the weapon believed to be used, which turned out to be a BB gun.

It has not been confirmed what charges they will face, but RPD said they will be criminally charged for the standoff.

All streets in that area have since re-opened.
