Two teens arrested in Perinton stolen car chase

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two teenagers were arrested Saturday, and police are searching for two other suspects, after a chase involving a stolen car in Perinton.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Locust Lane around 3:47 a.m. for reports of a group of people breaking into cars. According to investigators, the first deputy to arrive saw three people run out of a carport and enter a waiting vehicle. When the deputy tried to pull over that vehicle, it sped through a stop sign and hit a curb.

Four people got out of the vehicle and ran away, police said. A 15-year-old boy was caught quickly, and a 17-year-old boy was taken into custody after police set up a perimeter. Police said they were working to identify the other two suspects.

Investigators determined the vehicle involved in the crash was stolen from a home in Penfield.

The 17-year-old Penfield boy and 15-year-old Greece boy arrested after the crash were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and criminal mischief. Both were taken to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center.
