ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester police are investigating the circumstances behind a one-year-old child’s death Tuesday afternoon.
According to RPD, they responded to the Chatham Garden Apartment Complex on Kelly Street for the report of a baby not breathing.
Firefighters attempted life-saving measures before the child was taken to Rochester General Hospital. She did not survive. Captain Greg Bello of RPD has called the incident an “incredible tragedy.”
The cause of the child’s death is under investigation by RPD’s Special Victims Unit and the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 911 to help with the investigation.
