ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A man was accused of possessing several guns and drugs during a car crash in the area of Lake Avenue, according to the Rochester Police Department.
The investigation found a 2009 Honda Odyssey hit multiple poles along Lyell Ave. before coming to a stop. Officers said when they began to speak with 37-year-old Joel Davila-Ramos they noticed a handgun in plain view.
Investigators said they recovered the loaded handgun, 250 packages of suspected cocaine, heroin, 89 bags of suspected fentanyl, and various other prescription pills.
Officers were able to safely take Davila-Ramos into custody. He has been charged with Criminal Possession of a weapon in the second and third degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third and fourth degree, and various vehicle and traffic violations.
Davila-Romos was taken to the Monroe County Jail and is expected to be arraigned in Rochester City Court.
