ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Troopers arrested a Churchville man for allegedly hitting four parked cars while fleeing from police.
According to NYSP, they tried to stop a driver in a 2016 Nissan Rogue on Hudson Avenue for failing to wear a seat belt. They said the vehicle then drove off northbound.
It was alleged that the driver, 35-year-old Delassaio Grimes, lost control of the vehicle around Pulaski Street, striking uninvolved vehicles and fleeing on foot. Troopers eventually caught up to Grimes on foot as she was apprehended.
Grimes was taken to SP Rochester and was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the second degree, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the third, Reckless Driving, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree.
28-year-old Sintrel L. Lee was driving the uninvolved 2020 Honda Civic with a 2-year-old also in the vehicle. Both passengers were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Troopers said Lee was driving under the influence when he was struck. Lee was then arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a child passenger.
