A GROUP of homeowners have been threatened with huge daily fines by a developer over the installation of fences on their properties.
Some residents of the Coulwood neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina have been threatened with fines of $100 a day over their new fences.
The issue occurred as developer DreamKey Partners started building the housing development, Aveline.
As part of this construction, last year builders erected a back wall behind some of the houses.
Several homeowners then decided to attach fences to this back wall to close off their backyards.
The residents were careful of neighborhood rules and even bought the exact same fencing that was used for the back wall.
“Everyone said it’s nice and uniformed and so forth,” homeowner Tanisha Griffith explained to WSOC-TV.
Glenn Hart, another homeowner who also closed off his yard with new fencing told the news outlet that the residents who did so even used the same company.
