ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The victim of a robbery and assault on Bay Street last Christmas passed away, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Officers said the victim, who was identified as 60-year-old Michael Dicesare, died at Strong Memorial Hospital late Sunday evening.
Dicesare received his injuries last Christmas at 12:45 a.m. Police said they found him at the corner of Bay Street and Portland Avenue with significant head and upper body trauma. At the time, he was taken to Strong in life-threatening condition.
It was alleged that Brucewayne Beaman, 22, and Guy Mustgray II, 33, struck Dicesare with a handgun and an edged weapon multiple times for several minutes before taking items from his pockets. The two were arrested on January 30.
Beamand and Mustgray were both charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and fourth-degree grand larceny. RPD says they are working with the Monroe County DA’s Office on possible updates to these charges.
