Local man becomes center of FBI cybersecurity investigation

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) – The FBI is accusing a local man of using an illegal marketplace to steal users’ personal information. Brandon Hall, 23, of Rochester was arraigned in Rochester City Court Wednesday. He allegedly purchased roughly 1,100 stolen account credentials from Genesis Market, which is described as a “criminal online marketplace” where operators compile stolen data, including victims’ banking usernames and passwords.
