ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – SPoT Coffee Shop, the local Rochester coffee shop on East Avenue has posted a notice after a recent health inspection found several violations.
The itemized list ranges through multiple violations including a critical violation of having food from unapproved sources, food contact surfaces not washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use following any time of contamination, and food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service.
Pest control services have been continued, and thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures have and are being implemented, SPoT Coffee representative Peter Kervin said in a statement.
Kervin also said SPoT Coffee is operating fully with the Monroe County Department of Public Health and are committed to following their guidance and recommendations. Kervin released the following statement to News 8:
“We take recent reports regarding our Rochester, New York location very seriously. Upon learning of the complaints and subsequent inspection findings, we took immediate action to address the issue. The restaurant has been closed temporarily while we work diligently to rectify the situation and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
