CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A Rochester man remains in police custody on Tuesday after an early morning warrant search into a residence police claim had drugs inside.
According to the City of Corning Police Department, 34-year-old Brian C. Weaver of Rochester was arrested and was charged with the following:
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
- Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
On Tuesday, Feb. 13, around 6 a.m., units from the Corning City Police Department and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team went to the Meadow Brook Apartments in Corning to serve a “no-knock” warrant at one of the buildings.
Liberty VFW to host Suicide Awareness Benefit Brunch
Police say the warrant was granted as a result of an ongoing investigation into the sale and possession of crack cocaine by the residents of the apartment.
As a result of the search, police seized narcotics, packaging materials, scales, and cash.
