ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester police announced the arrest of a father after a child was hospitalized for possible cold exposure. They said this resulted from a fight with the child’s mother.
Officers responded to a Farleigh Avenue home around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday for family trouble. According to police, the victim, a 28-year-old woman, has a two-week-old daughter with a 23-year-old man. It was alleged the suspect got into a fight with the victim and took off with the child.
Investigators said they found the suspect with the child at an apartment on Green Knolls Drive. They believed the child was outside in the cold and wasn’t dressed properly. She was taken to a nearby hospital for possible exposure to cold. She is in stable condition.
The father was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
