A DRIVER has refused to pay a $300 parking fine issued to her by Nassau County even though she has never been there.
Kelly Predmore from Rochester, New York, is one of three drivers from the same city who were handed fines by Nassau County.
All three fined drivers live almost 400 miles away and were forced to prove that they had never been to the county.
“It stinks that anybody has to go through this,” Predmore told ABC News affiliate WABC-TV.
“But at the same time, it’s nice knowing you’re not alone,” she added.
Predmore was handed a $300 fine by Nassau County for allegedly parking in front of a fire hydrant in Farmingdale.
“I’m not paying $300 for something I didn’t do, and I’m not about to make a trip down there to fight this,” she said.
“I can’t take time off of work.”
Fellow Rochester resident Kim Rogers was issued a ticket claiming that her car inspection was overdue despite the sticker saying others.
