Rochester leaders provides details on 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Organizers of the upcoming Tops St. Patrick’s Day Parade gather with city leaders to share details about the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The news conference kicked off with performances by the Gates Keystone Pipes & Drums and the Rochester Academy of Irish Dance.

Deputy Mayor Michael Burns and Monroe County Executive Adam Bello were joined by several local Irish organizations and community members for the proclamation of March as Irish-American Heritage Month, which will celebrate influential Irish Americans and the impacts they left on Monroe County.

During the conference, they presented sashes to all of the honorees, while acknowledging the “In Memoriam Honorees:”

  • Grand Marshal — News 8’s John Kucko and Maureen Maguire
  • Community Organization of the Year — Hillside Family Agencies
  • Citizen of the Year — Ron Kampff, a former firefighter for the Rochester Fire Department and started Rochester Challenger Miracle Field.
  • Community Leader of the Year — Judge Jack Elliot
  • Business Leader of the Year — Danny and Jessica Barry
  • Sportsperson of the Year — Rory Fitzpatrick
  • Honorary Marshals — Mason Fitch and St. John’s Meadows
  • In Memoriam Honorees — James Cassidy, Tommy Doherty, Frank Dolan, Eileen Fee, Anne M. Kelly
