Serial flasher sentenced to 7 years in prison

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to exposing himself to children in 2023 was sentenced to seven years in prison Wednesday.

Paul Goodrell pleaded guilty in February to burglary as a sexually motivated felony, three counts of public lewdness, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested multiple times in December after investigators said he exposed himself to a child in a Farmington Tops, touched himself in front of a 7-year-old and tried to lure the child away, and followed a family with young children through a Walmart in Victor.

Goodrell’s sentencing was originally scheduled for April 10, but prosecutors said it had to be delayed when the Dept. of Corrections and Community Supervision failed to bring him from a state prison in Elmira to Ontario County in time.
