Penfield duo arrested with 50+ stolen IDs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A pair of Penfield residents accused of identity theft allegedly had dozens of stolen IDs in their home when it was searched by police.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Kelli Race and Jonathan Alvarez, both 41, used a stolen credit card to make a purchase at the Canandaigua Walmart in May. They also stole someone’s identity to rent a cottage on Canandaigua Lake, where they stole checks from the property owner and used another person’s identity to cash them.

Police searched their home, where they allegedly found more than 50 driver’s licenses, passports, and other forms of ID.

Race and Alvarez were arraigned on burglary and grand larceny charges and taken to the Ontario County Jail.
