Motorcycle crash leaves Rochester man dead in Genesee County

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Rochester man is dead following an accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV in the Town of Stafford Saturday evening.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office says the Emergency Dispatch Center received the report of a personal injury accident around 5:36 p.m. on State Route 33 in Stafford.

According to the GCSO, 20-year-old Michael Ciarpelli of Rochester was traveling west down State Route 33 when he attempted to pass two vehicles in front of him.

A Ford Edge was turning into the eastbound lane of State Route 33 off of Griswold Road when Ciarpelli attempted to pass the vehicles. He then collided with the Ford and was ejected from the motorcycle onto the right shoulder where he was pronounced dead at the scene by GCSO.

The crash is still under investigation. There are no additional injuries reported with the driver or passenger of the SUV at this time.
