Canandaigua man accused of giving 5-year-old alcohol, head butting police car

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Canandaigua man is facing several charges after he allegedly offered alcohol to a 5-year-old and damaged a police car when being arrested.

According to Canandaigua police, 28-year-old Trevor John allegedly gave a 5-year-old child an alcoholic beverage on South Main Street in Canandaigua while highly intoxicated and taking care of the child.

Police say when he was advised that he was under arrested he attempted to flee before he was caught and apprehended. John then head butted a police car and kicked out the rear window causing damage to the car.

John has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Michief in the third degree Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree and Resisting arrest.

John has been transported to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
