Baby Masai giraffe is leaving Seneca Park Zoo

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Baby Masai giraffe Pippi will be leaving Seneca Park Zoo next month to join another family, the Zoo announced in a Facebook post.

Pippi was born on December 14, 2023, and has since grown into a healthy and energetic giraffe at the Seneca Park Zoo.

The move is an AZA’s Species Survival Plan recommendation to ensure long-term sustainability of giraffes.

You can still visit Pippi before she leaves in October. The Zoo is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
