YMCA holds Senior Celebration in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The YMCA Senior Celebration made its return to Rochester for the first time in five years Tuesday.

Active older adults were able to come together and participate in day camp activities such as ziplining, arts and crafts, boat rides, and group exercise classes. The was an opportunity for over 200 young-at-heart members to participate.

“It’s just a great way for that community to come together,” YMCA Branch Executive Laura Fasano said. “A lot of them like to stay at their own branches, but this is a great opportunity to bring people together from all of our different communities, to get to know each other and to participate in just fun activities and to challenge themselves a little bit too, right? You’re never too old to be challenged.”
