Free roller skating event celebrates Hispanic heritage in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County and Para la Cultura are putting on a roller skating event this Friday night in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is meant to help families learn more about Latino history in Rochester and beyond. There will be Latino vendors, music, dancing, poetry, as well as face painting and of course, roller skating.

“This is for all ethnic backgrounds. This is for everyone,” event producer Freddy Colon said. “We just want to see everyone be here, get that knowledge about Hispanic heritage and what it actually is and why we choose this month to celebrate our rich Hispanic culture.”

The event is completely free at Skate Luvers Roller Palace on Adirondack Street in Rochester starting 7:00 p.m. Friday.
