Boy, 15, arrested after multi-agency chase following Rochester robbery

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A strong arm robbery in Rochester led to a chase involving several law enforcement agencies Sunday evening. By the end of it all, a teenage boy was taken into custody.

News 8 arrived at the area of Alliance Avenue near Monroe Avenue just before 9 p.m. and saw about a dozen RPD patrol cars and officers from both RPD and State Police canvassing the area, and talking to apparent witnesses. A K9 unit was also on scene.

According to officers, after the robbery around 8 p.m. at the Family Dollar on E. Ridge Road, officers found the suspect vehicle around Hudson Avenue and Laser Street. Officers said they gave chase for several miles, nearly hitting Wayne County on Route 104, before the suspects made a U-turn and headed back toward the city, sideswiping a car around Monroe Avenue and Culver Road. No injuries were reported.

Police said the suspects later ditched the car around Monroe Avenue and Alliance Avenue.
