First of many measurable snowfalls at Bristol Mountain

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WROC) – With those colder temperatures and lingering showers we had earlier this morning, Bristol Mountain saw its first snowfall of the season. While Rochester may be a bit behind in seeing tis first flakes, Bristol Mountain is actually right on schedule.

“It’s that time of the year where it’s cold up top and not as cold at the base so we have snow up top from last night no snow at the base right now but we’re right on track so usually we see kind of our first flurries around the end of October, but we really don’t see that first snow sticking until mid November,” says Steve Fuller, who is the vice president of Bristol Mountain.

However, Mother Nature’s snow does not complete the job for making enough snow for trails to open.

“We don’t get a lot of natural snow and New York and Rochester region so that’s really why our state of the art still making system is so important and so integral to really know to boost what mother nature gives us be able to add a lot of snow depth open a lot of trails here first mountain fast as we take advantage of the cold temperatures,” says Fuller.
