ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — News 8 has been following a number of animal cruelty cases, including one just last week where a dog was found abandoned in a dumpster in Rochester.

With this in mind, News 8 heard from experts at Lollypop Farm to learn more about the options available to those struggling to care for their pets. Officials told News 8 Tuesday that the best thing to do, of course, is to reach out for help as soon as possible.
Lollypop officials said they offer a number of resources, including counselors who can figure out a solution to fit your needs.
“A lot of people feel guilty if they feel like things aren’t working out with their pet, but they really shouldn’t,” said Adrienne McHargue. “It’s just the way that some things are, and we understand that circumstances might change and sometimes it’s better for you and the pet if you make that change to a different home. So, we want to be here to help you and support you through that transition however possible.”
