ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Crews are at the scene of a church fire on Forbes Street Tuesday morning.
The Rochester Fire Department received multiple calls about smoke from Trinity Inter-Faith Church on Forbes Street. Crews found most of the flames on the lower floors of the three-story building. A second-alarm was called due to the size of the fire and weather conditions.
Firefighters told News 8 that most of the fire was extinguished, but crews are searching for hotspots in the building. Nobody was inside the building at the time of the fire.
News 8 is at the scene of the fire and saw ladders extending to the roof, as well as some smoke. Roadways in the area were closed down as firefighters battled the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
