A three-car crash at a busy Farmington intersection sent several people to the hospital Thursday afternoon, according to Ontario County deputies.
Mark Ronchi, 37, of Penn Yan, was identified as the driver who caused the crash. Deputies say Ronchi was operating a 2023 Hyundai westbound on State Route 96 near County Road 28 when he followed too closely and rear-ended a 2014 Subaru driven by Sheryl Crippen, 65, of Farmington. The impact forced Crippen’s vehicle into a 2023 Kia driven by Bruce Bordwell, 58, of Phelps.
Multiple passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported by Victor Farmington Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Manchester Fire Department responded to the scene, assisting with road closures during the investigation.
