Police: Speeding SUV launches into the air, hits sign and tree on St. Paul Street, leaving driver seriously injured

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Monday at 4:45 p.m., Rochester Police went to St. Paul Street by Clifford Avenue after an SUV crashed into a tree on the west side of the street.

The driver and only person in the car was a 44-year-old man from the city. The vehicle had significant damage, and the Rochester Fire Department had to extricate him from the car. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police said the car was speeding north on St. Paul Street when it crossed the southbound lane and hit a curb, which launched it into the air. The car then hit a sign and then a tree…
