Rochester community forum held on immigrant resources

Rochester organizations and local leaders are working behind the scenes in response to the ongoing presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the community.

Spearheaded by Councilmember Stanley Martin, the Rochester People’s Assembly community forum provides an overview to participants of emergency resources and support available to residents and immigrant communities.

“We want people to educate themselves about knowing your rights, who to call in crisis and make sure that people feel safe in relying on each other and knowing that other people care,” Martin said. “Immigrants in this community are not alone, and we’re standing with them. So, this is another way to show that we’re all in this together. And if they come for one of us, they’re coming for all of us. So, we really stand with immigrants. And that would be one of the messages being carried on here today.”…
