Pittsford family celebrates native’s show’s Tony wins

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Sunday, the 78th Tony Awards celebrated the theater industry’s best and brightest — including a show starring a local actress.

News 8 has previously reported Pittsford-Mendon graduate Isa Antonetti made her Broadway debut this year in the production of “Buena Vista Social Club.”

Pittsford native’s Broadway debut earns ten Tony nominations

She stars as Young Omara, and the musical was nominated for 10 awards. The musical follows the life of the Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, the famous Cuban singer and member of the Buena Vista Social Club.
