Driver hits officer, leads police on multi-agency pursuit in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Waterloo man was taken into custody Wednesday night after allegedly striking a Rochester police officer with a vehicle and leading law enforcement on a multi-agency pursuit, authorities said.

According to the Rochester Police Department, officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on North Clinton Avenue when the driver fled the scene, striking an officer in the process. The officer was not injured.

A backup officer pursued the suspect in accordance with department policy until the chase was terminated near the interchange of Route 490 and Route 531 by a supervisor…
