Monroe County Water Authority hit with violation from 1998 DOH decision

MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. (WROC) — If you live in Monroe County, you might have received a letter from the Monroe County Water Authority, saying the utility provider received a violation from the health department dating back to 1998.

Monroe County water is still plenty safe to drink.

MCWA said this notice was for a failure to install a kind of optimal corrosion control system, adding in a statement that the New York State Department of Health mistakenly said the authority did not need one in 1998, but now they do.
