Weather Forecast: A hot and stormy start to the workweek

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Although the heat advisory is now expired, the heat itself may linger into early Monday. A cold front is expected to move through during the afternoon hours, setting the stage for scattered thunderstorms ahead of and along the boundary. With plenty of heat and humidity in place, the timing looks just right to spark some potentially strong storms. It won’t be a total washout, but the day is likely to end on a soggy notes. Temperatures should climb into the upper 80s before the front arrives.

8-Day Forecast

Things calm down again by Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds with lower humidity. These will likely be the most comfortable days of the week. Highs both days will stay in the low 80s.

Unfortunately, by Thursday, the unsettled weather pattern returns. Scattered showers and storms will be back in the picture. While it won’t rain all day, any storms that develop could bring downpours. Friday will be more of the same: hit-or-miss showers and a summery feel. It’s that kind of pattern where the atmosphere feels stormy, even if it doesn’t always deliver.

Looking ahead to next weekend, both Saturday and Sunday are now leaning more towards the wetter side. A chance of scattered storms looks possible for both days and even into the beginning of the following week. It’s too early for specifics, so for now, take advantage of the quieter weather while it lasts!…
