Rochester man sentenced to five years in prison for arson

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Jermaine Fields, 38, from Rochester, pleaded guilty to arson and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles E. Moynihan said that on April 17, 2024, there was a fire in the men’s bathroom at Abundance Co-Op Market on South Avenue in Rochester. Although there were no flames, firefighters could smell burning rubber and found burned debris in the bathroom. Security camera footage showed Fields leaving the bathroom seconds before the fire alarm was activated. He was arrested several days later and charged with arson…
