Weather Forecast: Clouds look to dominate rest of weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — I don’t think the weather could get any better than today’s. Skies will become cloudy heading into the first half of the overnight hours as temperatures fall into the mid 60s. A chance of a shower or two is possible throughout the second half of the night.

Sunday starts off with some unsettled weather Morning showers and thunderstorms looks likely, especially early, before skies gradually begin to clear. Highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s, which is a bit cooler than our average high for this time of the year. Temperatures will fall into the low 60s for overnight lows.

Monday and Tuesday will bring a noticeable shift, as sunshine returns and drier air settles in. Temperatures will remain seasonable on Monday with highs in the mid 70s, then warm into the low 80s by Tuesday under mostly sunny skies. Both days will be quiet and quite pleasant!

By Wednesday, clouds begin to mix in with the sunshine, and temperatures jump back into the upper 80s. Humidity will slowly build, hinting at the return of a more summerlike pattern. Thursday will turn more hot and humid, with highs pushing into the low 90s. The heat may help to trigger a few isolated storms in the afternoon and evening, especially as instability grows.

Storm chances increase by Friday, when scattered thunderstorms are likely. Highs will remain in the upper 80s, and some of the storms could bring downpours or gusty winds…
