Henrietta seeks state funding to transform Dome Arena into community center

HENRIETTA, N.Y. – A new community center could soon be coming to the Dome Arena in Henrietta. Town leaders are considering purchasing the arena, contingent on securing funding from New York State.

Henrietta Town Supervisor Stephen Schultz said, “You know, for a town as big as we are – we’re approaching 50,000 residents – we don’t have a community center. And we’ve had a number of community groups reach out to us.”

Schultz envisions using the arena for various community events and activities, including gymnastics, which has seen doubled attendance since 2019. He said the current location is “bursting at the seams.”…
