ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Roc the Peace Festival was held on Saturday, encouraging the community to promote peace and nonviolence.
The event celebrated 15 years of outreach with a day of performances, family-oriented activities, bounce houses, tabling by local vendors, and a DJ at Jones Square Park. Performances included national recording and smooth jazz artist Will Holton as well as local performers such as Gior Parker and Coach Pinky & The PNK Steppaz.

Roc the Peace was started as a direct call for peace and action following the murder of the son of the organization’s founder and president, Sirena Cotton. The organization also works with families who have lost loved ones due to gun and street violence.
