ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A pedestrian has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Lake Avenue Saturday afternoon.
According to the Rochester Police Department, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on the 800 block of Lake Avenue at 2:04 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a 47-year-old man from Rochester had been hit as he was standing on the sidewalk.
An investigation into the incident found that a 2014 Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Lake Avenue and drove onto the sidewalk in an attempt to avoid a collision with another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle proceeded to strike a building after hitting the victim.
