First Alert Weather: A beautiful Saturday with some thunderstorms to track on Sunday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Saturday will bring a beautiful day to Western New York with highs in the upper 80s and plenty of sunshine. Dew points are expected to stay in the upper 50s to low 60s, providing comfortably dry conditions throughout the day.

Dry weather will continue into Saturday night, but clouds and some humidity will arrive after midnight. Saturday overnight lows are expected to dip down into the mid-60s. Though it will be noticeably more humid Sunday morning, a steep drop off is expected after the frontal passage with dew points plummeting into the low 50s by Monday morning.

This cold front will bring a much-needed break from the heat. We will start the work week in the mid-70s as a high on Monday. This cooler weather is expected to stick around until the middle of the week before returning to seasonable warmth at the end of the workweek.

Turning our attention to the tropics:

As of 11 a.m. Saturday, sustained winds were observed at 155 mph and Erin’s location currently sits just to the north of Anguilla, continuing to move west at 17 mph. This hurricane is expected to bring tropical storm conditions to the Leeward Islands and will likely bring heavy wind and rain to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico as well…
