ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Two local runners, Charlie Ruff and Jake Metzger, are taking on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money for Parkinson’s disease research. On August 23, they will run 100 miles from Bend to Sisters, Oregon in just 24 hours.
As they trained for their ultra-marathon, Ruff and Metzger shared their motivation with News10NBC.
“We’re doing this for Parkinson’s and that really is the motivating factor here, but the number of people who have supported us through the whole community means so much to us,” they said. “We’re going to be thinking of our families, we’re going to be thinking of everyone who donated, and we’re going to be thinking of all of our friends and family who are currently dealing with Parkinson’s.”…
