Rochester resident to be honored for willpower at annual walk

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One couple in Rochester has turned what could be considered a tragedy into an opportunity. For her fundraising efforts, active lifestyle, and persistent will, Chauntell “Tell” Feeney will be honored next month by the Brain Injury Association of New York State.

Feeney and her wife, Jess, garden, bake, play sports, do crafts, and cheer on their favorite team, the Buffalo Bills. By all means, Feeney is living as full and exciting a life as anyone, even with an anoxic brain injury.

In 2020, Tell started experiencing unbearable headaches and went to the hospital. Testing revealed she had Chiari Malformation 1 and hydrocephalus. While awaiting treatment, her condition worsened and led to a brain injury. Despite being told she wouldn’t last the day, she powered through. Five years later, Chauntell and Jess have started their own business, “Tell’s Sweet Treats”, fundraise and support organizations, and even participate in sports…
