IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. – The Town of Irondequoit continues to craft policies on short-term rental properties such as Airbnb and Vrbo. The town board hosted a public hearing and discussion on Tuesday night as it considers new regulations.
Recommendations include capping the number of permits for short-term rentals and the distance between them. The current proposal is 500 feet but some owners say this discriminates against lakefront property owners who want to rent out their homes. However, neighbors have mixed opinions.
