Report of carjacking leads to Rochester police chase, with 3 arrested

Rochester, N.Y. — Three people were taken into custody after police chased a stolen vehicle in the city early Wednesday.

Officers began an investigation shortly after 3:45 a.m. into a report of an armed carjacking at North Clinton Avenue and Ward Street, according to Lt. Anthony DelVecchio from the Rochester Police Department.

While responding, they noticed the suspect vehicle — which had been reported stolen — and attempted a traffic stop, DelVecchio said, but the vehicle fled and prompted a pursuit…
