RCSD teachers’ union files grievance over district payroll issues

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The union that represents teachers in the Rochester City School District is filing a grievance after hundreds of district employees went without pay.

The Rochester Teachers Association is filing the grievance with the New York State Department of Labor, union president Adam Urbanski confirmed in a letter. The payment issues have impacted around 100 teachers and nearly 700 support staff this summer.

As News10NBC has covered for weeks, some RCSD employees went over a month without pay because of technical issues with a new management system called Oracle. The system transition had been more than a decade in the making and cost nearly $46 million.
